Campus Life in Hermiston Oregon provides a safe environment where teenagers can hang out with friends and connect with trusted mentors. We understand that adolescence can be both the best of times and the worst, making it a crucial period in a young person’s development.

Meet the Executive Directors

Jeff and Ashley Umbarger became the Executive Directors in 2018 when they felt God calling them to move back to Hermiston. Together, they share a passion and a calling to work with youth. By using wisdom learned from their own life experiences, they strive to give all teens a place to belong. The Umbargers previously worked at a youth ranch for at-risk teenage boys in Washington where they received extensive training, including techniques for becoming trauma informed. They both earned agricultural degrees from Blue Mountain Community College. Additionally, Jeff attended Northwest Nazarene Bible College and is currently working towards his teaching degree. They love outdoors, hunting, snowboarding, white water rafting, rodeo, and sharing their musical talents with others.

Campus Life is:

Relationally based. We’ve found the importance of shared experiences between a student and a caring supportive adult is indispensable. This is why we primary focus on relationships and not programs.

Holistically Balanced. Campus Life is committed to help students as they wrestle with issues they face both big and small, while pursuing a balanced life: Mentally, Physically, Spiritually, and Socially.

Individually Focused. Campus Life knows the journey of adolescence is different for everyone. We are committed to coming alongside students and meeting them where they are in order to help them navigate these years.
